Glen Oaks Inn Snow Dancers

The snow did not continue yesterday, so our guest and one Innkeeper joined together to form the Glen Oaks Inn Snow Dancers. Yes they did! This morning after breakfast, the men got together to entertain the guest in the ritual Snow Dance.

Dance of the Snow Bunny!

At exactly 9:18 am this morning our guests were treated to a show never before seen anywhere. And I mean anywhere. One of our regular guests, and I won't name any names, but Mark you know who I'm talking about - wanted to assist us with a performance of the Snow Dance. As the guests were finishing breakfast and taking their coffee to the front porch to enjoy the fire and conversation, Mark (oops) appeared at the front of the Inn with his snowshoes in hand. He laid them down on the ground with his back facing the porch and started to "do the snow dance". Yes his arms were waving, the fingers were shaking and then if that wasn't enough, he picked up the snowshoes and started waving them (as if he was bringing in a 747). The butt was shaking and it was on. He gave us a 3 1/2 minute show that we'll talk about for years to come. Laughter rang through the Inn and those guests that had not made it our to the porch were running to see what all the noise was about. It ended with a bow and applause! And by the way, the snow started to fall at 11:03 am and has not stopped since. Thanks Mark, we'll be hiring you out to and areas that need a snow bunny.

Fall is in the air!

It's true that we are seeing some color on the trees, but it is very limited. Accordnig to those at the top, foliage will be vibrant this season. Just can't wait!

Summer is definately here!

You know when your in the thick of summer, when your walking out the back door you feel you've walked into a sauna. Yes, this summer is a little warmer than usual, but the pool is standing by when you need it.

Hopefully everyone is enjoying the summer and getting out to take a break from the day to day grind. Grind, sounds like a cup of coffee. Maybe I'm thinking I need a cup of coffee. My mind wanders when the heat gets to me.

I know one thing, this summer is busy and we're glad to see new guests as well as return guests. Everyone is enjoying their getaway, since most say they really needed one. So have a great summer everyone!

Spring is almost gone!

Okay, where did the time go? I looked at the calendar and May is all but over and summer will hit before you know it. I missed out on the morning walks in the cool breeze and the evenings by the fire pit near the pool. Making smores with guests and burning a few marshmallows as well.

Now summer is a whole new thing. We're attempting to purchase an outdoor movie projector and screen to play movies for guests in the evening a couple nights a week - weather prevailing. So I better get another cup of coffee and get to work on our summer events list at the Inn.

Where does the time go? And is it true what they say: When your older time passes by more quickly? If so, tomorrow I'll be writing my blog for winter.

Snow has arrived!

Finally snow has arrived and there is a beautiful blanket of snow in the valley. The skiing is great and the new roller coaster at Cranmore is really a hit.
Romance in the magic of the mountains.
